Nicki Minaj & Safaree Samuels Breakup: Couple Reportedly Headed Toward Reconciliation; Source Alleges Meek Mill Is 'Protecting His Heart'
Nicki Minaj and ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels are reportedly heading toward reconciliation.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the Trinidadian emcee was rumored to be dating her "Buy A Heart" collaborator Meek Mill, as they were photographed cuddling and each Instagrammed their selfie taken together.
However, Minaj's romance with the Philly rapper did not last long, and they even got into a "thot" argument on Instagram recently. According to Urban Islandz, she was still in love with Samuels, whom she dated for 12 years.
"Their relationship is still volatile, and Nicki is still in love with SB so that is making it hard for her to move on with Meek," a source revealed. "Nicki did contact Safaree, and Meek is starting to feel like they will get back together and leave him in the cold so he is protecting his heart."
Also, the publication previously reported that the "Anaconda" hitmaker and her ex-lover are on speaking terms.
"They are speaking to each other but they have not rekindled their relationship, and I cannot comment on whether they will," a source said. "At one point, there were no communication, but it's a good sign that they are on speaking terms now. [Nicki Minaj] texted [Samuels], 'Happy New Year,' and wished him all the best for 2015, and he responded the same. I think they have been communicating since, but I don't know on what level or what they are talking about."
With that being said, the latest source claims that Safaree Samuels is now back in the picture, as he and Nicki Minaj are secretly working their differences out.
"Nicki and SB love each other deeply. They define what a soul mate is because this is not the first time they have broken up and they always ended up back together," the source told Urban Islandz. "They are working things out and are doing it privately to avoid any media escapade."
