Her intense look made Adriana Lima one of the most eye-catching parts of the Victoria's Secret catalog, but the 33-year-old model has come a long way since the beginning of her career.

For Super Bowl XLIX, Lima and other models will be featured in a commercial for the lingerie brand, the Daily Mail reports.

Lima, who was born in Bahia, Brazil, was discovered when she placed second in the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest, according to NY Mag. She debuted on the runway in 1997, but has been working with Victoria's Secret since 1999.

In 2000, she earned Angel status. In that same decade, she walked for Versace, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen to name a few. She also became a household name. In Italy, for example, she became the face of Telecom Italia Mobile.

In 2008, she was named the fourth highest-paid model by Forbes. She reportedly made $7 million the previous year, NY Mag reports.

Models.com, a database for the modeling industry that also ranks models's based on different metrics, named Lima as one of the Money Girls.

"Being the undisputed queen of Victoria's Secret comes with more than a few perks," the site said. "Adriana has one of the biggest contracts in the business and has held her place in the pantheon of money girls."

On top of being one of the highest-paid models, she was also ranked by Models.com as one of the sexiest. Her April 2006 GQ covers was one of the magazine's best selling issues. Lima has also been called one of the New Supers by the site.

"The Brazilian bombshell is not just an industry favorite, she's a fan favorite and has more than earned the title of super," the site said about placing her on the level of supermodels Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell.

The Daily Mail reports Lima was named the most athletic by other Victoria's Secret Models. Fellow Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio praised Lima for her athletic prowess.

"Adriana is pretty amazing," Ambrosio said. "She does all of that boxing that I've never done before and I'm scared to even try – what I do is more mild and better suited for girls, but she does what the athletes do. It's really tough."

In 2011, Lima spoke to the Telegraph about what she does to get ready for the Victoria's Secret show. She explained she worked out two times a day.

"It is really intense, it's not really the amount of time you spend working out, it's the intensity: I jump rope, I do boxing, I lift weights, but I get bored doing that," she said. "If I am not moving I get bored very easily."

As for her personal life, Lima married former NBA player Marko Jaric in 2009. The two separated in May 2014, according to People.

The couple has two children, Valentina and Sienna.

One of the model's biggest passions is charity, particularly the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti.

"I visited Haiti for a campaign shoot and fell in love with the country," she said, according to Vogue. "The people were amazing, especially everyone at St. Luke Foundation, which provides important services like medical care and education to lesser-served Haitian communities. The doctors, nurses, and social workers at the hospitals work tirelessly to make sure their community is cared for, so I'm happy to help them help themselves!"

Lima is also a soccer and football fan.
