Belarus vs. Albania Live Score, Preview, Predictions, Schedule: International Friendly 2013
Albania and Belarus will face off in an international friendly on Friday.
Both teams have already been eliminated from World Cup contention. Belarus was grouped with Spain, France, Georgia and Finland. In the team's opening World Cup qualifier Belarus lost 1-0 against Georgia. The team lost 3-1 in France before being destroyed 4-0 at home by Spain. Belarus then defeated Georgia 2-0 at home before dropping a 1-0 result in Finland. The rematch at home with the Finnish ended in a 1-1 draw. The team was then annihilated 4-2 by France at home before it pushed Spain to the brink in a 2-1 loss.
Albania had a far more impressive campaign and took on the likes of Switzerland, Iceland, Slovenia, Cyprus and Norway. The team took down Cyprus 3-1 in its opener before losing 2-0 at Switzerland. A 2-1 loss against Iceland followed; Albania then defeated Slovenia 1-0 at home; the team followed that with a 1-0 win over Norway. In the rematch with Norway Albania only managed a 1-1 draw at home. Slovenia defeated Albania 1-0 in the following qualifier and Iceland also took home a 2-1 victory over the Albanians. The final two matches included a 2-1 loss at home against Switzerland and a 0-0 draw with Cyprus.
Prediction: Albania was more impressive throughout the qualifiers and should have an upper hand against Belarus. Expect a 1-0 Albanian win.
