Selena Gomez poses topless in a pair of jean shorts on the cover of V magazine spring 2015 94th issue.

For the issue, the "The Heart Wants What it Wants" singer talked about her on-again off-again failed relationship with heartthrob Justin Bieber with James Franco, Huffington reports.

"When you're young and you're being told so many different things ... it almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way," Gomez said. "It was really weird but it was incredible. I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?"

She now has a different perspective on relationships.

"I think the next time will be much different ... which will definitely not be any time soon. That's a growing up kind of thing," the singer and actress said. "I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I'm guarding certain things more. After being put through the scrutiny, I understand what it is."

Gomez also talked about getting anxiety when she kept making headlines during her toxic relationship with Bieber.

"There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave [the house] as much," she said. "I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit. It was just easier to say, 'Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up, I don't want to get photographed."

She added that she is now getting comfortable with being in the spotlight after going through her anxiety issues.

The former Disney child star's hair is full of curls on the magazine cover as she wears red hoop earrings and pulls back some of her hair with a red polka dot bow. She is standing sideways with high-waist shorts and her arms are crossed, covering her chest.
