Kelly Clarkson Baby & Tour News 2015: 'Stronger' Singer Talks Singing With 'Crappy People' and John Legend
Kelly Clarkson says she has been having trouble finding artists to work with her on a song.
"I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no," the 32-year-old Grammy winner said in a BBC Radio 1 interview according to Us Weekly. "I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people. I feel like I'm a very nice person that you might want to sing with me."
The first "American Idol" winner added that she asks "good people."
"I don't want to sing with crappy people, so I mean, I ask people who are great vocalists, but I'm not going to point out anyone," Clarkson said. "Sometimes I feel like I have the plague, or leprosy, they're like, 'If you get too close...' I don't know."
Clarkson added that she did get at least one person to collaborate with her for an R&B single.
"I got John Legend to say yes, and he's cool," she said. "I can get country artists to sing with me and John Legend! I'm gonna keep John Legend. He's super credible and talented. I feel very good about myself with that one."
The singer previously collaborated with Jason Aldean, Vince Gill and her stepmother-in-law Reba McEntire.
Clarkson also opened up to BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw about her "difficult pregnancy," which made her take off longer than expected.
"She's the perfect tour baby," the singer said of her daughter. "She goes to rehearsals, and when we all start playing she goes to sleep and when we stop she starts crying."
The singer took the time off to work on her new album and is already planning for her second baby.
"I love it. I love it. She's pretty awesome, and my husband is running from me because I want another one," she said.
Clarkson's new album "Piece by Piece" is scheduled to be released in the beginning of March.
