It has been widely reported HTC is expected to announce the new version of the One on March 1 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. But it seems a German online retailer may have prematurely posted the M9's image and product listing before the official release.

Engadget reports MobileGeeks spotted images of the HTC One M9 on Cyberport.de and captured the images before the product listing was removed.

If the pictures are accurate, the M9 won't look much different than HTC's current model, the M8. It seems to have the same front-facing speakers and metal design. The captured images show the smartphone in both silver and black color options; the M8 is available in three colors: glacial silver, rose gold and gunmetal grey.

The camera seems to be were the difference lies. In the images of the M9, the camera looks larger than that of the M8. The Blinkfeed home screen also looks slightly redesigned. Blinkfeed is a tiled interface that HTC offers as a home screen option on all devices. It displays news and social media updates, which users can custom tailor.

No word yet on battery life. The M8 had a battery life that lasted about 20 hours of 3G talk time and up to 496 hours during standby.

Additionally, the company has also published an "approximate" release date, suggesting the phone will be shipped starting with April 9th, and posted a variety of images, as seen in the following gallery. All three colors of the One M8 have an upfront cost of $749.99 or at $199.99 with contract.

The soon-to-be-released One M9 is expected to have faster core hardware and Android Lollipop topped off with HTC's updated Sense 7.0 user interface.

BGR reports that Cyberport.de listed prices for the HTC One M9: €749 ($848.91 U.S.) unlocked, with contract prices starting at €99.90 ($113.23 U.S.).

Cyberport also published an "approximate" release date, suggesting the smartphone will start shipping April 9.
