A man believes his wife was intentionally murdered and not a victim of a road rage dispute in Las Vegas, according to The Associated Press.

"My wife was followed home and murdered," Robert Meyers said.

Meyers believes his 44-year-old wife Tammy Meyers was fatally shot after trying to lead a motorist who threatened her away from her home.

The 19-year-old suspect, who was a neighbor of the couple, was arrested just a week after Tammy Meyers' death. Erich Milton Nowsch Jr. was in a silver car that pursued Meyers and her son Brandon Meyers as they were chased to the cul-de-sac outside their home.

Nowsch's lawyers said they did not believe the case involved road rage, outside of the court. Conrad Claus and Augustus Claus said they want to review police reports and video evidence before talking about Nowsch's defense.

The public was initially told Tammy Meyers was shot in the head after a confrontation with another motorist as she drove her teenage daughter home. Then her son Brandon Meyers came out of the house firing back at the silver car.

It was later discovered Tammy Meyers dropped her daughter off then went to look for the motorist who frightened her earlier. They had a confrontation far from their home, but it wasn't until later that she was killed close to her home.

Las Vegas police are not commenting on the changing accounts or addressing whether the murder happened because of road rage.

"I don't know what she saw," Robert Meyers said. "She's dead. I can't ask her. But this was intentional -- to kill the person in the green car."

Nowsch's lawyer said his client feared for his life and will argue self-defense, CNN reports. Conrad Claus said police interviewed Nowsch while he was high on marijuana.

Nowsch is charged with murder, attempted murder and firing from a vehicle for the Feb. 12 death of Tammy Meyers.
