Actress Scarlett Johansson said there is nothing inappropriate about John Travolta's red carpet kiss, Associated Press reports.

Travolta wrapped his arms around Johansson from the back and kissed her passionately on the cheek while she was on the red carpet at the Oscars.

The kiss has since been a meme all over the internet poking fun at Travolta.

"The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome," Johansson said.

"That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live. Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle."

The "Avengers" actress added, "I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him."

Johansson and Travolta co-starred in the 2004 drama "A Love Song for Bobby Long."

Travolta also made headlines for touching Indina Menzel's face during their skit, ABC News reports. Last year, he flubbed her name, calling her Adel Dazeem and tabloids poked fun at him for it.

But, the "Grease" alum's representative said the "touch" for this year's Oscars was planned, Us Weekly reports.

Menzel and Travolta presented John Legend with the Best Original Song Oscar for the song "Glory" for Best Picture nominee "Selma."

The "Frozen" actress purposely destroyed Travolta's name before introducing him to the stage in a comedic reminder of his mistake last year.

"Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the stage my very dear friend, Glom Gazingo," Menzel said of Travolta as he made his way to the stage.

"I deserve that," he said before grabbing Menzel's face by the chin and properly pronouncing her name.

The "Hairspray" star's rep said, "It was rehearsed in total. John Travolta loved working with Idina Menzel."

The rep added, "John had a great time at the Oscars because his wife, Kelly Preston, and his daughter, Ella, were in attendance with him."
