March Netflix Movies and TV Shows 2015: 'Bloodline,' 'The Returned' & 'Inspector Gadget, Kids' to Be Released in March
The "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," a new Netflix series released last Friday, looks to be a hit for the video streaming company.
Ellie Kemper, who played Erin Hannon on "The Office," is the lead character who moves to New York after escaping a doomsday cult. Jane Krakowski of "30 Rock" plays her employer. The show was co-created by Tina Fey, who is best known as a comedian and head writer at "Saturday Night Life."
"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" was originally meant for NBC, reports The Motley Fool, but NBC executives thought the quirky comedy was not a good fit for its audience, which seems to prefer dramas.
The new series is a win for Netflix. The first season has received critical acclaim with a 94 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
