Irina Shayk and Cristiano Ronaldo split in January and now Shayk is speaking out about it to Spanish magazine Hola.

Shayk says she thought she found the ideal man in Ronaldo, but she was wrong. She said she even felt ugly with him by her side.

"I thought I had once found the ideal man but it didn't turn out that way," Shayk said, according to The Mirror. "I think a woman feels ugly when she's got the wrong man at her side. I've felt ugly and insecure," she said.

She explained to the magazine her ideal man.

"My ideal man is faithful, honest and a gentleman who knows how to treat women. I don't believe in men who make us feel unhappy, because they're boys not men."

Some claim that Shayk's words are an attack on Ronaldo, but the model doesn't call him out by name.

Shayk continued to explain what she wants out of a man.

"Relationships are hard so you have to know what type of man you want by your side and what their values are, what is important in his life," she said.

She explained that there is always a reason to stay with someone and there are reasons to leave someone.

"If you stay with someone it's because you're walking in the same direction and you're both looking for the same thing," she added. "Both should share the same concept of what a relationship means and the same energy to believe in a monogamous relationship."

Shayk and Ronaldo were together for five years. In January, Ronaldo said to the Associated Press, "after dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end."

"We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now," he added.
