Friday, March 20, marked the finale episode of Ryan Murphy's "Glee," which aired on FOX for a successful six seasons.

The New York Daily News reports that the two-hour series finale incorporated flash backs to how the New Directions started and flash forwards to 2020 where viewers see the members of the New Directions establishing successful careers.

The flash backs to the beginning stages of the New Directions consisted of several montages of the late Cory Monteith who played the multi-talented jock, Finn, on "Glee," Us Weekly reports.

Monteith's montages incorporated the New Directions remix to "Don't Stop Believing," which has garnered much success on the show. Fans later learn that Sue Sylvester ends up dedicating McKinley High's s auditorium to Finn.

The second hour of the show focused on the year 2020 where the key members of the New Directions are shown leading happy lives and impressive careers.

In 2020, "Glee" fans are shown that Rachel Berry finally accomplishes her goal of winning a Tony. She wins a Tony for Best Actress for her performance in the musical "Jane Austen Sings," the NY Daily News reports.

On accepting her award, Rachel thanks Mr. Schue who watches Rachel's win from home with wife Emma and their children.

Fans also find out that Rachel ends up marrying Jesse St. James and becomes a surrogate for Kurt and Blaine's future child.

Kurt and Blaine also lead successful lives together as a happily married couple living in New York City.

The now married couple is also successful on Broadway after receiving critical acclaim for co-starring in the first LGBT version of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf."
