Jay Leno Says College Students Are 'So Politically Correct'
Jay Leno recently appeared on Seth Meyers' late night talk show and expressed his opinion that college students are too politically correct, Mediate reports.
Leno recalled the time that one of his "Tonight Show" college interns accused him of being racist because he told them that he did not like Mexican food.
"College kids now are so politically correct," Leno told Meyers. "I mean, to the point where -- I'll give you an example, we had interns at the show, college interns. Like, the last year of the show, one of the interns comes and says, 'Mr. Leno, I'm getting lunch. what do you want?' I said, 'I don't know, where are you going?' He said, 'we're getting Mexican.' I said, 'I don't really like Mexican.' He goes, 'whoa, that's kind of racist.' That's not racist."
Leno continued, "No, being anti-guacamole is not racist, okay? You have no idea what racism is. That's not racist, you idiot, you moron."
Following his story about his former college intern, Leno recalled his grandfather only eating Italian food throughout his life, the Daily Mail reports.
Leno joked that his grandfather was mesmerized by various ethic group eating meals not native to their culture.
'Like [my grandfather] would say, "Oh my God! A Chinese guy with a hot dog, look at that!'' Leno jokes.
In addition to poking fun at college students and his grandfather, Leno also joked about showbiz in comparison to the real world.
Leno teased that people outside of the entertainment industry work every day while showbiz workers complain about working once a week.
Leno's criticism of college students and showbiz comes on the heels of his diss aimed at former "Bachelorette" star Trista Sutter.
In a December interview with Craig Ferguson, Leno named Sutter as his most uninteresting interviewees.
"The classic example is I had one of these reality stars on... Trista! From one of these Bachelorettes... So, I'm sitting and I'm looking at the side of her head. I couldn't be less interested. I've never seen this stupid reality show - you know what it was," Leno said.
