An emotionally drained Celine Dion is publicly admitting that her husband's cancer has become so bad he now has to eat through a feeding tube.

In an interview with ABC News set to air on Wednesday, March 25, Dion frequently wipes away tears as she opens up about husband Rene Angelil and his ongoing battle with throat cancer.

"He can't use his mouth," she said. "He can't eat, so I feed him. He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day. I do this myself, and so I feed my husband and my kids."

The 46-year-old "My Heart Will Go" singer and Angelil, 73, were married in 1994 and have three sons together. Rene-Charles is 14, and the couple also has 4-year-old twins, Eddy and Nelson. Angelil was first diagnosed with cancer in 1999, and underwent a procedure more than two years ago to remove a tumor from his throat.

"We are taking life one day at a time," added Dion. "[But] we are choosing to live."

In recent years, Dion has been performing at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, though she last played there in July of 2014 as she has cared for her husband. At the time, the five-time Grammy winner was struggling with an illness that caused her throat muscles to inflame and following her own health scare told fans she was postponing her career "indefinitely" to tend to Angelil.

She is scheduled to return to Vegas in late August to resume her residency. In 2004, Dion's record sales topped 175 million here in the U.S., paving the way fr her to become the best-selling female artist of all time.
