‘The Returned’ Season 1 Episode 4 Spoilers: Lena is Rushed to the Hospital, Rowan and Simon Grow Closer, Julie Learns Victor May Be Involved in a Death [Watch]
In "The Returned" Episode 3, "Julie," viewers caught a glimpse into Julie's horrific attack. Tommy became more paranoid, Rowan and Simon got too close, and Lena received a nasty scar. A new character was also introduced.
"Julie" opened with a flashback to seven years earlier. The doctor left a Halloween party, and a woman, Detective Nikki Banks, kissed her and asked her to stay. She left the party and was attacked on the way home.
The show returned to present day where Julie and Coldwell residents gathered for old man Goddard's funeral. Julie met up with her obnoxious neighbor who told her about Lucy's attack. She told the doctor Lucy was attacked like "that woman seven years ago." Shocked by the news, Julie immediately returned home.
Nikki visited Julie's apartment to tell her about Lucy. Julie felt hurt that Nikki never came to see her following the attack. Once Nikki left, Julie's nosy neighbor arrived to ask why a policewoman had been there. The neighbor assumed it was because Victor is an illegal immigrant. The two argued.
Later, while Julie was out, Victor ventured next door. We did not get to watch what happened next, but a sense of dread overshadowed the scene.
At the Winship's, Jack and Claire planned to move Camille where she can enjoy a normal life. Meanwhile, Camille devised a new identity as Lena's cousin Alice to hang out at the Dog Star with her crush, Ben.
Lena met up with Camille that night, not amused by her stunt. She told Camille to go home, then attempted to sleep with Ben out of spite, but a mysterious, growing scar on her back made her leave.
Tommy had booked his fiancée's ex-boyfriend, Simon, who was later released into Peter's custody. Paranoid about Simon, Tommy installed security cameras at home to keep an eye on Rowan.
Simon, who realizes he died in a car accident years before, visited Rowan at the library to say goodbye. Rowan took him to meet his daughter, Chloe. It was a bittersweet moment.
Simon returned to the house later that night to see Rowan. They shared a passionate kiss as Tommy, filled with rage, watches via camera footage from his office.
Episode 3 introduced us to Tony's brother who broke into the boarded up house to look for his mother but found only covered furniture.
Tony arrived to the house and discovered someone broke in. He was shocked to find his brother in the backyard. He hit him with a shovel and ran in the house.
When Tony emerged, his brother hit him over the head with the shovel. When Tony regained consciousness, he was staring into the barrel of a shotgun held by his brother. His brother asked for their mother. Tony said that she died two years ago in an accident -- an accident in which his brother had died as well.
In next week's episode, "Victor," Lena is rushed to the hospital because of her scar and she accuses Camille of hurting her. Rowan grows closer to Simon and discovers Tommy has an obsessive secret. Julie learns Victor may be involved in a horrific death.
Did Victor silence Julie's intrusive neighbor? Did Camille cause Lena's scar? Will Tommy attempt to kill Simon in a jealous rage? Could Tony's brother be Julie and Lucy's attacker?
