Colombia and Kuwait will play each other in an international friendly soccer game on Monday afternoon.

This should be a very interesting match, as Colombia and Kuwait have never faced each other at major competitive level before. Colombia and Kuwait play in separated conferences and continents, but a diverse schedule always helps down the road.

Let's preview the game and predict a winner.

Colombia (3)

Colombia comes in ranked No. 3 in the world, and No. 2 in CONMEBOL behind only Argentina. Colombia had an incredible 2014 FIFA World Cup making it all the way to the quarterfinals for the first time in their nations history.

Unfortunately, James Rodriguez will not be playing. The Real Madrid star is still recovering from a broken foot injury he suffered two months ago against Sevilla in a La Liga game.

Of course, not having Rodriguez on the field will hurt, but this is a good chance for head coach José Pékerman to really see what kind of team he has. In Colombia's last friendly, on March 26, they dominated Bahrain, 6-0. Team captain Radamel Falcao scored two goals in that game, and goalkeeper David Ospina earned a clean sheet.

Colombia has an excellent middle field led by Abel Aguilar and Fredy Guarín.

Kuwait (125)

The Kuwait National Team comes in ranked No. 125, and No. 14 in the AFC confederation. Kuwait was actually a very successful club back in the 1980s having won the 1980 Asian Cup, and making a FIFA World Cup appearance in 1982. Unfortunately, their club has fallen under tough times in recent years, and other teams have caught up.

Kuwait's last scheduled friendly, against the United Arab Emirates, was cancelled back in January. The last friendly international game Kuwait played was a 1-1 draw against Iraq in 2014. Nabil Maâloul is in just his second year managing Kuwait, and he knows Colombia will be a huge test for his team. Not having to face Rodriguez will be a plus as will having a much closer home field advantage than Colombia.

Goalkeeper Khaled Al-Rashidi is expected to get the start in net for Kuwait. Although Kuwait doesn't have a strong middle field like Colombia, they do have skilled forwards. Bader Al Mutawa and Yousef Nasser lead a confident offense against Colombia.

Schedule, Where to Watch

Colombia and Kuwait will play each other in an international friendly soccer game on Monday, March 30, at noon EST. The game will be played at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Asia. You can watch a live game stream here.

Prediction

Both teams have good things going for them. Colombia has the more balanced team, and an elite middle field with World Cup experience. Kuwait won't have to face Rodriguez, and they won't have to travel nearly as much. In the end, Colombia will be too much to handle controlling the time of possession.

Colombia wins 2-1
