Holy Superfriends, Batman!

It seems that Arrow and the Flash will team up once again in the hit TV series before it ends in May.

A number of new on-set images revealed that The Flash will team up with The Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (Robbie Amell) to fight the character's nemesis The Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh). Arrow has already appeared in the show before but it will be the first time he teams up with Firestorm.

The new pictures show a stand-off between an unmasked Flash a.k.a. Barry Allen with his fellow superheroes Arrow and Firestorm, along with The Reverse Flash. The images most likely reveal the final episode as the recent episode revealed The Flash's supposed mentor and friend Dr Harrison Wells to be The Reverse Flash.

The series has been leading up to the final climax as Barry is beginning to suspect there may be something wrong about S.T.A.R. lab's head. The Flash has had to face a number of big enemies from his Rogues Gallery in the season thus far and this one must be incredibly powerful if the character needs the help of two other superheroes.

The face off has been rumored for a number of weeks, especially since actor Grant Gustin revealed to ComicBookResources.com that there was a major twist in store for him and his arch-nemesis that was not in the comic books. He told the news source, "There's a twist with Harrison Wells and the Reverse-Flash storyline that no journalist has guessed -- I've never seen it online. It's going to I think really surprise everyone. And it's an original twist to the character that doesn't mess up the mythology."

The series still has a number of episodes left, but fans have yet to see Mark Hamill as The Trickster, a villain he originally played in the 1990s TV version of "The Flash."

"The Flash" tells the story of Barry Allen who uses his super speed to fight crime in Central City.

While the first season of "The Flash" will end on May 19," the CW already has plans for a second season.
