'The Real Housewives of Atlanta News & Cast: Was Demetria McKinney Fired From Reality Show?
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion taped on Friday and cast member Demetria McKinney was nowhere to be found, according to RadarOnline.
RO claims that McKinney was banned from the "RHOA" reunion taping and will not be returning to the next season of the show because producers felt her storyline was lackluster.
"A source close to production told Radar exclusively that Demetria McKinney was totally MIA at the taping in Atlanta," says RO, adding, "Though she caused some drama early on, the producers didn't feel that Demetria had enough to bring to the table."
Porsha Williams was also MIA, but only during the first portion of the reunion taping.
RO reports that Porsha made an appearance during the second half of taping and will return to her official housewife status next season.
RO adds that "viewers will still be in for a dramatic reunion ... Nene Leakes had a breakdown and left the stage for an hour."
But despite RO's claims, McKinney recently denied rumors that she was fired during a recent interview with Hello Beautiful.
"This is completely untrue," she said about the rumors. "Let me 'Keep it 100.' I was not 'banned' from the reunion set nor was I fired from the show. I am under contract for this season just like the rest of the cast."
McKinney did however support the claims that she was not present at the reunion show. She explained that she did not appear for the taping because of previous musical engagements that conflicted with the taping schedule.
"Fortunately, because of the platform the show has provided for me, my music career has escalated and that will always come first," she explained.
She then added, "In addition to continuing to support 'RHOA,' I am currently busy with my live performances as well as preparing for the upcoming Funkfest Tour that I have been added to with R. Kelly, SWV and Erykah Badu."
