'Mortal Kombat X' Game Characters List and Trailer: Mobile Game Available for iOS Devices, Soon for Android
Mortal Kombat X will be released for consoles and PCs April 14. That will not stop some from playing a replica of the game, a free-to-play mobile version available for iOS devices, Game Spot reports.
Now available for iOS devices such as iPhone and iPads, the "Mortal Kombat X" mobile game will be a mixture of fighting and combat and card-collecting. The Android version is coming soon.
The game was developed by NetherRealm and advertises "striking graphics," according to the game's announcement.
NetherRealm released the highly successful WWE Immortals mobile game this January. Over 8 million downloads have been logged for WWE Immortals. Warner Bros. mobile executive Greg Ballard believes that the new "Mortal Kombat" mobile game will also enjoy similar success.
"The team has outdone themselves with its latest offering, creating an authentic Mortal Kombat mobile experience from the ground up, bringing players all the signature, over-the-top fighting gameplay mechanics that are hallmarks of the franchise and delivering on WBIE's quality games-as-a-service promise," he explained.
The mobile game will combine fighting and card-collecting. It features more than 24 characters at its inception, including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Cassie Cage, D'Vorrah and Kotal Kahn.
Players will be able to unlock additional gear and "more dramatic, over-the-top Fatalities."
The game is free-to-play, which means there could be features that can be purchased using real money or by progressing through the game.
The "Mortal Kombat" mobile game will feature daily events and online multiplayer support. An "Allies" feature will let players "borrow" characters from their friends. More Challenge Mode characters are coming "soon," Warner Bros. said.
Players will be encouraged to unlock special content in the mobile game to be used in the console version.
The game is available for download now from iTunes and will be available soon for Android devices. It is available as a free download.
