Jencarlos Canela posted an Instagram photo of himself with puppy dog eyes admitting that his heart beats for his city.

The Latino star will play a bi-cultural, singer-songwriter and actor in NBC's new sitcom "Telenovela" alongside Eva Longoria, according to PR Newswire. Longoria is also the creator and producer for the show.

Jencarlos finished his 2015 North American concert tour last month, which started in Canada and ended in Spain.

Although the Latino musician features albums in both English and Spanish, "Telenovela" would be his first crossover in the general market.

"I'm in love with this project, it's truly a dream come true when you can do what you love, alongside the people you admirer," the Latino musician said. "Thank you to NBC and Eva Longoria for this incredible opportunity."

Longoria said she's happy to work with the famous celebrity.

"I am beyond excited not only to work with Jencarlos, but to see the doors that his crossover into American television opens! He's an amazing addition to the show!," she said regarding his participation on the NBC sitcom.

Jencarlos has dedicated the past two years to his music career gaining more than 100 million views on YouTube and eight million followers on social media networks.

The 26-year-old is the first Latin artist to kick-off the popular Times Square New Year ball drop countdown, Latin Post noted.

Canela was also crowned the winning coach of the first installment of "Va Por Ti," Univsion's prime-time music reality competition which airs in Mexico and Latin America.

Longoria will star in "Telenovela" as a beautiful diva and star of a popular telenovela, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Meanwhile, Canela will star as a character much like himself.
