NBA Playoffs Weekend Predictions & Schedule: Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers Look To Advance to Second Round
The Atlanta Hawks, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers will look to book a spot in the second round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs, while the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors will begin their Western Conference semifinals series.
Atlanta Hawks vs Brooklyn Nets
The Hawks, who comfortably finished on top of the Eastern Conference during the regular season with their 60-22 record, will look to close out the series against the Nets, who have surprisingly given Atlanta a competitive first-round series.
The Hawks are coming off a 107-97 win on Sunday, which put them one win away from arranging a second-round matchup against the Washington Wizards. The Hawks will lean on their balanced attack anew and All-Star center Al Horford knows they have no room for complacency on Friday night.
Horford, who averaged 13.6 points to go along with 10.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the first five games, admitted that they are being pushed to the limits, but he is confident it will make them more prepared for the second round if they successfully hurdle the Nets.
Nets head coach Lionel Hollins has other things in mind, though, as they are focused on extending the series into a seventh game, where he believes anything can happen.
Schedule: Friday, 8 p.m. ET on ESPN

Predictions: The series has been a close one for a first and eighth seed, but the Hawks will likely close out the series on Friday unless the Nets get another spectacular performance from starting point guard Deron Williams.
San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers managed to force a deciding seventh game after escaping with a hard-earned 102-96 victory on the round on Thursday night in San Antonio. They will have home-court advantage on Sunday, which might not be a big factor against an experienced team like the Spurs.
Schedule: Saturday, 8 p.m. ET on TNT
Live Stream: TNT Overtime
Predictions: The Spurs have proven numerous times that they are a better team when their backs are against the walls. In a deciding game where experience will play a big factor, expect the Spurs to advance to the second round comfortably.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies and the Warriors will kick off their second-round series on Sunday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The Grizzlies advanced to the second round after eliminating the Portland Trail Blazers in five games, while the Warriors swept the inexperienced New Orleans Pelicans in the first round.
Schedule: Sunday, 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC
Live Stream: WatchESPN
Series Predictions: The Grizzlies are one of the best defensive teams in the league, but the Warriors simply have too much firepower. Warriors in six games.
