Lindsay Lohan is very familiar with the LAPD and she's getting quite cozy with the NYPD. Lohan is back in the headlines again - but for all the wrong reasons.

According to Lohan, she was assaulted by a man she met - 26 year-old Christian LaBella - at a night club and invited him back to her W Hotel Union Square room. Sources said Lohan took LaBella's cell phone in an attempt to delete pictures and video of her partying.

LaBella demanded she return the phone, but Lohan balked - and told cops he threw her down on the bed and scratched her. At one point, the troubled actress locked herself in a bathroom. She finally ran out of the 15th-floor suite - where rooms top $500 a night - and scurried down several flights of stairs, with Hjelmbak in tow.

According to the New York Daily News, Lohan claimed that LaBella choked her from behind and threw her to the floor before Hjelmbak yanked him away, cops said. Lohan pulled the fire alarm for help as he fled, police said.

Cops who responded spoke to Lohan and began looking for LaBella, who was trapped in the stairwell because the alarm had disabled the elevators.

As he exited the stairwell, police grabbed him. Lohan identified him as her attacker, and he was taken to the 13th Precinct stationhouse.

LaBella was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and two counts of harassment. The NYPD dropped the charges because of inconclusive evidence and Lohan refused to seek medical help.

Lohan, 26, was arrested last month when she allegedly hit a pedestrian with her Porsche outside a New York City nightclub and fled the scene. No charges were filed against Lohan and police say it was an attempt to set Lohan up.

LaBella is a Washington-based aide to Rep. John Shimkus, a Republican from Downstate Illinois.
