Christmas may have been disappointing for residents of Los Santos as rumors for the release date of a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V were proven false. Rockstar Games is doing its best to keep the gaming holiday spirit alive, however, with gifts available for Grand Theft Auto Online.

According to rumors sparked by Reddit, the release date for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V was supposed to be released on Christmas Eve. The game was supposedly to be released in the United States and Europe in March.

"Welcome to Amazon Chat. My name is Fatima [...]. According to our information, GTA V PC will be announced on 12/24 and according to our source; it will be released in the USA on 03/12 and here on 03/14," an Amazon representative allegedly told a Reddit user in German.

Another Reddit user confirmed this, citing an additional Amazon U.K. support team member, but Christmas Eve has come and passed and Grand Theft Auto PC has yet to surface.

Bah, Humbug! But what's that, Tiny Tim? There's still something for Grand Theft Auto fans to celebrate?

Rockstar Games doesn't want its players to end the holidays empty-handed. The game developer has released special holiday gifts that will be available until Jan. 5.

"Right now, you'll find special limited-time, holiday-themed items in the clothing shops and at Vespucci Movie Masks like Santa hats, Elf jackets and shoes, Snowman masks, Reindeer antlers and more," Rockstar Games said via its Newswire page. "All these items are available to don until January 5th."

In the spirit of social media (because there weren't enough Christmas trees uploaded to the Internet this year), Rockstar Games also introduced "Snapmatic."

"Spruce up your selfies and share your holiday photos with a host of updated Snapmatic features that have just been released including all-new photo Filters, Borders, and Facial Expressions," the developer said. "There's also a new Depth of Field Effect and a Meme Creator feature."

Snapmatic is accessible through Story Mode and is a permanent addition to the online game.

Finally, Rockstar Games is having holiday deals on select cars, weapons and more.

The gifts were not bad a haul for a gamer's holiday, but definitely no Grand Theft Auto PC. Rockstar Games promises "big things to come in 2014," but I'm guessing players won't be satisfied until Santa brings a box labeled "PC."
