Chiquis Rivera took some time to reflect on her late mother Jenni Rivera on Instagram. Chiquis shared a portrait of her mother watching over her siblings.

Chiquis explained it was something her mother always wanted.

The singer also shared a long message about Jenni. The message was accompanied by a picture of she and Jenni smiling.

"I will never fully understand 'why' you're not here," she said. "Nor will I ever completely accept it, but one thing I do know for sure if that God has a perfect plan for all of us... And part of His plan for my life was to be by your side to help you with my brothers and sisters while you worked to feed us an fulfill our needs."

Chiquis went on to explain that sometimes things were difficult for the family, but that she still values these moments.

The image was one her brother originally shared, where he thanked both Chiquis and Jenni for being his two mothers.


Chiquis also recorded a video to express her thoughts.

She said her mother is the "best mother in the world" and said that sometimes people "don't realize that until it's too late. Although, I don't think it's ever too late."

Chiquis believes Jenni is listening to her, and she is always missing her. Chiquis says she loves her with all her heart.

"Thank you so much for all the lessons you left me with, for giving me so much strength. Your lessons have helped me get through life, it's been very hard without you," she said, as she starts to cry in the video.

Chiquis further thanks her mother for leaving her with her brothers and sisters, saying she could not live without them.

Chiquis ends the video by saying her mother was a great mom and says she cannot wait to see her in heaven. 

Chiquis and Jenni were not on speaking terms when the singer died on a plane crash in December 2012.
