NFL Top 100 Players Rankings 2015 List: 90-81 Revealed; Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens Shine
Each and every week, NFL Network will be releasing 10 more players in order until we find out who is the best player in the league. Today, we reveal the players who ranked 90 through 81.
This week's edition has just three offensive players, but seven defenders.
90. Michael Bennett
Starting off this week's list is Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett. Bennett is one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFC West. He has 24.5 combined sacks the last three seasons, and he has played a huge role in the Seahawks making back to back Super Bowl appearances.
89. Greg Olsen
The only tight end to make our list this week. Olsen has been a phenomenal target for young quarterback Cam Newton receiving 843, 816 and 1,008 yards the last three seasons with the Carolina Panthers. A lot of people forget that Olsen used to play for the Chicago Bears. Combined with Kelvin Benjamin, Newton now has some reliable targets to throw to.
88. Glover Quin
The Detroit Lions needed safety help last season, and Glover Quin provided just that. He led the NFL in interceptions last season and made second team All-Pro as well as the Pro Bowl. The Lions know they can't lose a valuable secondary player like Quin, and they recently restructured his contract.
87. DeMarcus Ware
For the first time in his career, DeMarcus Ware wasn't a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Ware had a rejuvenated season last year with the Denver Broncos in which he had 10 sacks playing alongside Von Miller. Ware guided the Broncos to the No. 3 ranked scoring defense in the league last season, and the veteran is still in great shape.
86. Eric Weddle
One could make the argument that Eric Weddle is the most underrated safety in the league today. The San Diego Chargers missed the playoffs last season, but it certainly wasn't because of this man. Weddle and the Chargers pass defense ranked fourth best in the entire league last season. Weddle also led the Chargers with 91 tackles in 2014, 32 more than any other player on the roster.
85. Golden Tate
Tate had a great season last year with the Detroit Lions with a career high 99 catches and 1,331 receiving yards. He helped the Seattle Seahawks win a Super Bowl in 2013, and he fits in just right with the Lions' high-powered passing offense. Don't let his small size fool you; Tate can get open against the best corners in the league.
84. Terrell Suggs
With the great Ray Lewis gone, this Baltimore Ravens defense belongs to Terrell Suggs. Suggs played in all 16 games last season, recording 12 sacks, 39 tackles and a safety. Suggs led the Ravens all the way to the AFC Divisional round, but their defense just couldn't contain Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the second half.
83. Maurkice Pouncey
The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the best young centers in the league in Maurkice Pouncey. Pouncey has made the Pro Bowl four of the last five seasons, and he's still just 25 years old. The Former No. 18 overall draft pick has definitely lived up to the hype. Pouncey also doesn't have an easy assignment blocking for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who often scrambles behind the line of scrimmage.
82. Haloti Ngata
The second Ravens player to be featured this week. Haloti Ngata is one of the best defensive tackles in the league. Although Ngata had just 20 tackles last season, he led the Ravens to the No. 4 ranked rush defense in the NFL.
81. Darren Sproles
A very fast and elusive player who can break a game wide open. Sproles isn't a great power runner between the tackles, but he can beat you in so many ways. He can break big runs to the outside, he can receive out of the backfield, and he has a big impact on special teams. Sproles is a great fit in the Chip Kelly offense for the Philadelphia Eagles.
