Post-apocalyptic series' have dominated the airwaves as of lately with steep praise by critics and audiences alike. Season 1 of "The 100" premiered on The CW network in March of last year and was a quick hit.

The CW quickly renewed the series for a second season and it premiered on the network that same year in October and ended with a 16-episode run last March.

According to IGN, the series has done well enough that it has been renewed for Season 3. Season 1 has already started streaming on Netflix, and soon Season 2 will be coming to the streaming-video buffet.

Binge-watching this series, which includes the first 13 episodes of Season 1 and 16 episodes in Season 2, is what CW president Mark Pedowitz wants for Netflix subscribers.

"Breaking Bad" also streamed on Netflix and it seemingly got a large cult-following real quick with people binge watching the series. The series finale was one of the most anticipated events last year and Pedowitz thought that might have been thanks to Netflix. AMC's other heavy-hitting show, "The Walking Dead," also streams on Netflix after the network season concludes.

"It's a big Netflix favorite, and having the opportunity to catch up on years one and two as we begin year three, maybe this show can get the real viewers it deserves, and maybe it'll have that Breaking Bad moment," Pedowitz said in reference to the upcoming release of "The 100" season two on Netflix.

With the midseason premier of "The 100" next winter, according to Zap2it, streaming Season 2 on Netflix now will give potential viewers all the time they need to get addicted to the show before season three premiers.

IGN reports that season one started streaming just shortly before Season 2 started last fall, which gave streaming viewers very little time to catch up in time to watch the first episode on The CW.
