Kobe 10 'Fundamentals' Release Date & Features: Nike To Release 'Simplest' Design for Kobe Bryant's Signature Shoe
Fans of the signature shoe collaboration between NBA star Kobe Bryant and sports Nike would soon have a new sneaker to look forward to. The tenth signature shoe of Bryant is set to make waves this week as Nike unveils its newest and simplest design and color to date dubbed -- the Kobe X "Fundamentals."
In spite of its basic black and white design, the sleek-looking shoe is about to make a statement in its utter elegance and simplicity. Officially listed as the White/ Wolf Grey-Black colorway, the shoe comes with a clean white-colored upper, tongue and mid and outsole as well as shoelaces.
At first glance, the people at Kicksologists mentioned previous Kobe signature shoes that are reminiscent of the "Fundamentals." According to the site, the plain black and white color combination "bring back memories of the Kobe IX Beethoven or the Team bank colors."
The upper comes in an open-weave design, noted Kicks on Fire noted. The sneaker bore no other design except a black Nike swoosh on the side. Black "mamba-inspired snake scale patterns" could be found at the shoe's tongue along with the Los Angeles Lakers player's signature on top.
Four red lines are found on the heel of the left sneaker, which signifies Bryant's Achilles' heel injury while the right shoe bore the shooting guard's signature sheath logo.
A Zoom unit is located on the midsole although it remains hidden with icy translucent design of the outsole. The Zoom unit enables added cushion, firmness and flexibility to the NBA star's movement on the hard court. A golden "X" is situated right under the Zoom unit in the outsole to signify the latest iteration of the player's signature shoe with Nike.
The 36-year old's philosophy in playing basketball inspired the newest colorway for the Kobe X. According to Nike, the shoe pays tribute to the former NBA All-Star MVP's ideal, which is to "master the fundamentals to master the game."
The latest design for the hoops' legend would hit select Nike stores and retailers beginning May 21 at 10 AM EDT. The shoe would be sold at $180 a pair and is available for customization. It is unclear whether the company would make this design available in grade school sizes in the future.
