Prince Harry finally met his niece Princess Charlotte three weeks after she was born, Us Weekly reports.

The 30-year-old royal met his first niece on Friday May 22 at Anmer Hall. He previously came back to England for Kate Middleton's expected due date but the royal baby went past the scheduled time of birth.

Prince Harry was undergoing military training in Australia at the time of Princess Charlotte's birth. He then went on a tour of New Zealand before heading back to England to meet his first niece.

"Harry was counting down the days to meet Charlotte," a source tells Us Weekly. "He was very excited. An extremely proud uncle."

Prince Harry said he liked the idea of the armed forces and recommends it to his other family members.

"I would definitely encourage George, and Charlotte if she wants to, to have some sort of involvement in the Armed Forces, guaranteed," Harry told the Sunday Times.

Prince William's younger brother was able to fit his little niece in his busy schedule. After meeting her, he went to play a polo in a match on Sunday.

The match was set to benefit one of his charities, WellChild, and a charity organization he is a patron of called homeless charity Centrepoint, People reports.

WellChild helps the families of sick children. Another organization that benefited from the polo match, MapAction, helps to provide real-time information on where relief is needed in disaster zones.

Prince Harry competed for The Jerudong Trophy at the Cirencester Park Polo Club England where his team lost 8 to 7.

Princess Charlotte joins the family with her big brother Prince George, who is turning two years old in July.

Prince William filed a birth certificate three days after the royal baby was born, CNN reports. Her full name is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.
