Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj Feud: Singer Considers 'American Idol' Time 'Worst Experience of my Life,' Focused on 'Nonexistent Feud'
Mariah Carey does not look upon her "American Idol" experience in the fondest of lights.
Gossip Cop reports while recently appearing on a segment of the Australian radio show "Kyle and Jackie O," Carey branded the show "boring and fake," adding that she has no interest in making any sort of appearance on the show next year in its 15th and final season.
Carey, who infamously feuded with fellow judge Nicki Minaj throughout her yearlong stint, later reflected, "That was the worst experience of my life."
Finally, she hinted that show execs seemed to like the idea of her and Minaj seemingly always being at odds with one another.
"I don't think they had any interest in us having a good experience through that show," she said.
Carey insisted it should have always been about the contestants "instead of about some nonexistent feud."
The experience of it all has been enough to leave Carey thoroughly convinced she never wants to be a member of the "Idol" cast again.
"I would never be involved in it again," she said, adding that she feels she could not always say what she wanted to say on the show.
"Half the time, the performances are good," she said. "You just be like, 'It was good,'" hinting that she always felt the need to embellish for the sake of the TV cameras.
Even if she wanted to, chances are Carey would not have time for the show anyways. Earlier this year, People reported she announced plans to embark on an artist in residence junket at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Carey is slated to perform all 18 of her No. 1 hits, including such classics as "Vision of Love" and "Touch My Body."
Carey joins a growing list of performers to recently take the stage in Vegas in for similar gigs, among them Celine Dion, Cher and Britney Spears.
