The publication notes that the issue, which could be tied to software optimization, is believed to be a focus of HTC thus its speculated release of an update that will give the phone a boost in terms of battery life.

Currently, there is no official confirmation on the rumors and the publication adds that @LlabTooFeR, one of the first to break the news, reports users in Taiwan have already begun to receive their updates. So, if this is true, we may see the enhanced software update being released very soon.

Google's new Android M

In related news, HTC has announced that an Android M Software Update will be released for both the HTC One M9 and One M9+, wrote Tech Times.

Recalling last year's release of the Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop, HTC was one of the first companies to offer the update within 3 months of Google's release over it's own devices. While the company failed to deliver on its bold announcement, it seems HTC is looking to redeem itself.

HTC announced that Android M would be released for the two new smartphones, which statistics have shown isn't performing as well as its earlier models, the One M8 and the One M7.

"Good news! The HTC One M9 and M9+ will be updated to Android M, with more devices to be announced soon," said HTC's Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon via Twitter.

Hopefully these reported updates will offer HTC One M9 users better functionality as Tech Radar reports a recent batter tests shows that a full charge of the HTC One M9 lasts only 5 hours and 12 minutes.
