‘Outlander’ Season 2 Spoilers & News: Claire Will Try to Change History, Stanley Weber Joins Main Cast
Fans just cannot get enough of the hit series "Outlander" on Starz, and now E! News has revealed some specific new information about Season 2 of the show that most will find to be welcoming.
It involves a handsome new addition to the cast, new details about the plot and Claire's attempt at "changing" things, but not exactly in the present tense.
First off, they report that Stanley Weber has been cast in a main role for Season 2 that will involve a new controversial angle for the show. (What would the show be without it?)
Weber will play the role of Le Comte St. Germain. His character is a dabbler in the occult and has a penchant for ruthlessness. This anti-hero is a wine merchant who also happens to be a member of the French royal court.
Although Weber's character will likely be the role of a villain, we can expect that he will not hold quite the ruthless intensity of that of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). We can also expect to see him in nearly all of the episodes, or those that take place in Paris that is.
Executive producer Ron Moore chatted with Kristin Dos Santos in regards to what we can expect now that Season 1 has ended.
"Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will go to France, they'll go to Paris in fact, and they'll try to change history," Moore told E!. "They'll try to stop the Jacobite rebellion, so they'll meet Bonnie Prince Charlie, a real historical figure. They're going to live in Paris. It's a completely different show."
We have also learned from Access Hollywood that Robert Cavanah has been cast as Jamie's Scottish cousin Jared Fraser, who lives in a Paris mansion and gives them lodging following their arrival.
A strong Jacobite and wealthy wine merchant, Jared departs for the West Indies and leaves Jamie and Claire to manage his business while he is gone.
