‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Cast News: Kim Richards Returns to Rehab, Sisters Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton Disown Her
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kim Richards has battled alcoholism for years.
Although she went to rehab for treatment in April, her intoxication and belligerent behavior at daughter Brooke Brinson's May wedding was the last straw for her family.
Richards had a sober coach with her when she attended Brinson's wedding in Cabo, Mexico, on May 23. Her erratic behavior tipped off family and friends that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Her subsequent meltdown resulted in her sober coach quitting and her daughter not speaking to her, reports TMZ.
According to TMZ, Richards remained in Mexico after the wedding in a constant state of intoxication. Her sister and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-star Kyle Richards had a security guard fly to Cabo and force Kim onto an airplane bound for L.A. Sources close to the family told TMZ that Kyle and her husband feel they have done all they can to save Kim and have now washed their hands of her.
In addition to losing the support of her daughter and Kyle, now Paris Hilton's mother and Kim's older sister, Kathy Hilton, has stopped all financial help, reports RadarOnline.
A source with knowledge of the situation told Radar that Hilton has supported Kim for "the last several years, after Kyle stopped paying for a majority of their sister's bills." When Kim relapsed at Brinson's wedding, Hilton cut her off.
Kim is currently in rehab, according to Radar Online.
Now, there is a lawsuit filed against the troubled former child star. People magazine reports a lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles that claims Kim's American Pit Bull, Kingsley, bit friend Kelly Crossley "without warning" at Kim's home on Sept. 1, 2014. The legal documents claim that Kim knew the dog was dangerous because it had bitten previously.
Kim is also facing criminal charges stemming from an April public intoxication and assaulting an officer arrest. She could face up to two years in prison, reports People.
