Chris Brown Assault Case and Rehab: Lawyer Denies Plea Deal, Says Breezy is Innocent
Chris Brown may be guilty of some things but his lawyers say he is not guilty of the Washington assault. When offered a plea deal to just plea guilty to the Washington Hotel assault, his lawyers said no. Brown's lawyers are confident that a video surveillance has the real truth behind what happened that day.
Danny Onorato, one of Chris Brown's lawyers said outside of the courtroom that "attorney's rejected the deal because Brown is not guilty." Another hearing is to be scheduled for Feb. 20 when prosecutors "will be turning over substantial video surveillance shortly but did not say what [the video] shows." Brown is being charged for assaulting a man outside of a W Hotel in Washington D.C after the man "photo bombed" Chris Brown while taking a picture with a female fan.
As a result of the alleged assault, the judge revoked Brown's probation in California, which he was still serving for the 2009 attack on then girlfriend Rihanna. The judge also appointed the "Fine China" singer to serve his current 90-day sentence in house at rehabilitation center. Earlier reports confirm that Chris is showing progress when it comes to his anger due to his treatment.
Mark Geregos, the lawyer representing Brown in the California case, took part in the hearing in Washington. He also plans to ask the judge to excuse his client from the Feb. 20 hearing because "he loses three days of treatment by making the trip to the courtroom in Washington." At this point, the priority is for Chris to get better so these alleged incidents can be avoided.
Chris continues his community service while in rehab and his current girlfriend Karrueche Tran is still by his side. No sign of momma Brown or Rihanna visiting the star have been reported. At least we get to see Chris on Karrueche Tran's Instagram (remember that New Year's pic? Yuck) and when he attends these hearings.
The very calm and quiet singer looked very handsome in his natural dark hair and a grey suit during the court appearance in Washington.
