Argentina vs Bolivia: International Soccer Friendly Schedule, Stream, Predictions & Preview
South America's biggest soccer tournament is almost here. The Copa America begins next week in Chile, and will feature some of the greatest soccer players in the world. Just 12 teams will be competing at this year's Copa America for a chance to be named "best CONMEBOL team."
Two of those teams are Argentina and Bolivia, who will be facing each other in an international friendly on Saturday.
Argentina (3)
Argentina will be entering this Copa America as the top ranked squad in the CONMEBOL Confederation. Only Germany and Belgium rank higher in the world today among national teams. Argentina has done extremely well at the Copa America having won 14 championships, the second most ever behind only Uruguay.
Lionel Messi is arguably the best soccer player on the planet, but even he has not yet been able to win this tournament. Incredibly, Pele never won the Copa America for Brazil either. Messi will not be playing in this game against Bolivia. On top of Messi not competing, Juventus star Carlos Tevez will also not be playing.
Barcelona and Juventus will be playing each other in the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday afternoon in Berlin, Germany with Messi and Tevez facing each other. After that contest, the two will be teammates for a long grueling Copa America tournament.
Argentina defeated Ecuador and El Salvador in their last two international friendlies. Argentina's next scheduled friendly will be after the Copa America on July 9 against Mexico. Lucas Biglia is questionable with a knee injury, but it looks like starting goalkeeper Sergio Romero will get the call in net.
Bolivia (89)
Bolivia doesn't have very high expectations at this year's Copa America from soccer fans and experts. The Bolivian National Team is ranked No. 89, the highest of any CONMEBOL squad. Bolivia has only qualified for one FIFA World Cup since 1954, however they have won the Copa America championship before.
Bolivia even made it to the Copa America finals in 1997 when they were the host, but lost to Brazil.
In their last international friendly, Bolivia defeated Venezuela, 3-2, thanks to goals from Ronald Raldes, Damien Lizio and Juan Carlos Arce. For this game, head coach Mauricio Soria is expected to start Carlos Lampe in net.
This will be Bolivia's last game before competing in the Copa America tournament next week. Bolivia has been placed in Group A with Chile, Mexico and Ecuador. Their first game of that tournament will be against Mexico on June 12.
The last three games between Argentina and Bolivia have ended in a draw.
Schedule, Where to Watch
Argentina and Bolivia will play each other on Saturday, June 6 at 7 p.m. EST on beIN Sports. The game will be played at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario in San Juan, Argentina. You can watch a live game stream here.
Prediction
Argentina won't have some of their best players on the field for this game, so we really can't expect them bring it all. Bolivia will have a good middle field, but playing on the road won't help. Who knows, maybe these teams will play each other at the Copa America.
Bolivia and Argentina draw, 2-2
