iOS 8.3 Jailbreak News: A Jailbreak Might Be Arriving Soon After Rumors it Was Demoed in Shanghai
It is possible that an iOS 8.3 jailbreak solution could be coming very soon. The jailbreak was said to be demoed this past weekend at the Mobile Security Conference in Shanghai, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
There has not been a jailbreak available for iOS 8.3, Apple's current operating system for mobile devices. The most recent jailbreak is for iOS 8.1.2. That might be changing if the demo from this weekend is in fact a full working jailbreak solution for iOS 8.3.
Pangu team member Daniel_K4 announced on Chinese social networking website Weibo that an iOS 8.3 jailbreak could be coming out when iOS 8.4 is released. iOS 8.4 will be the last update to iOS before Apple releases iOS 9.
The iOS 8.3 jailbreak is likely to only be compatible with iOS 8.3 and not iOS 8.4; however, details are limited on the jailbreak. Once iOS 8.4 is released, jailbreak developers will likely be hard at working looking for a way to jailbreak it.
iOS 8.4 is expected to be released soon. Apple announced iOS 9 Monday at their annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
The news of a possible jailbreak is the first major update that the public has seen since April regarding an updated jailbreak. Back then, a preview of a jailbreak for iOS 8.4 was detailed in a video from well-known jailbreaker Stefan Esser (also known as i0n1c). Esser said he was running a jailbroken version of the first beta for iOS 8.4. Esser said his jailbreak efforts would not be shared with the public and that the video was just a "proof of concept" to prove that it was possible to jailbreak iOS 8.4.
If a jailbreak is coming for iOS 8.4, it will likely have to come from one of the jailbreak teams, either TaiG or Pangu.
According to Uber Gizmo, Pangu has released jailbreaks for previous versions of iOS in the past to the public, so it would not be surprising if they released an iOS 8.3 jailbreak to the public.
