'Passengers' Cast, News & Release Date: Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence to Earn Big Paychecks For Sci-Fi Movie
Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, two of Hollywood's biggest stars, will be joining forces for an upcoming sci-fi movie, titled "Passengers."
According to People, Pratt and Lawrence are set to earn big paychecks for the film.
Lawrence -- whose success in "The Hunger Games" franchise, the "X-Men" films and Academy Award nominations has earned her leading lady status -- is set to earn $20 million for the film.
Although Pratt's popularity has just recently began to reach that of Lawrence's, his recent ventures, "The Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World," have earned him box office credibility. "Jurassic World's" record-breaking opening is due to increase Pratt's paycheck to $12 million, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The "Parks and Recreation" actor spoke to People about his recent success.
"Career wise, I want to make sure I focus on making good on the commitments that I've made and the projects that I'm tackling," Pratt said. "I don't want to spread myself too thin and I don't want to have too many irons in the fire."
Like Lawrence, Pratt is considered one of Hollywood's most relatable actors, so their on-screen union is set to excite many fans.
"I'm really just enjoying this ride with the understanding that they'll throw me off at some point," Pratt joked. "It will most definitely happen, it always does."
The film "Passengers" is set to also include "The Matrix" star Keanu Reeves, Academy Award-winner Reese Witherspoon and "The Notebook" star Rachel McAdams.
Lawrence is set to wrap up her role as Katniss Everdeen with the release of the final installment in "The Hunger Games" franchise come this fall, while Pratt is expected to get back into character for sequels for both "The Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurrasic World."
"Passengers" is set to begin filming in September.
