A freelance photographer called Taylor Swift a hypocrite for protecting artist's rights but not doing the same for photographers.

Photographer Jason Sheldon says Swift's policy on image licensing is one of the reasons why some photographers don't get paid for their work.

The country singer turned pop star released a letter to Apple Music on Tumblr bashing the company for its policy that would have left artists go unpaid for their work within a span of three months.

Sheldon responded with an open letter on his blog stating that Swift has a policy that allows her to grab a photographer's work once and then use if "for all eternity" for free without letting them publish anywhere else.

"Photographers need to earn a living as well. Like Apple, you can afford to pay for photographs so please stop forcing us to hand them over to you while you prevent us from publishing them more than once, ever," Sheldon said in the letter.

The photographer is responding to Swift's snarky remarks about Apple having the money to pay artists for their work.

"We don't ask you for free iPhones," the "Shake it Off" singer wrote. "Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."

The singer made it clear that she is not complaining for her own sake. Instead, she is providing a voice to the starving up and coming artists who are afraid to demand their rights for fear of being rejected.

"How are you any different to Apple?" Sheldon retorted. "How about making sure you're not guilty of the very same tactic before you have a pop at someone else?"

Sheldon published a copy of the photo policy by Swift. He states that photographers who violate could be prevented from working at her shows and any other show that is connected by the same "promoter, venue, PR, or management company."
