Tampa Bay Buccaneers front office executive Ed Glazer has bought a luxury estate in Montecito.

The Bucanneers' co-chairman of two decades acquired the expansive California estate for $21.5 million, Los Angeles Times reported. The private and gated California home, which was listed three years ago for $34 million, was reportedly sold for the greatly reduced price by another businessman named Fred Lukas, the son of the late billionaire Malcolm Glazer who also owned Manchester United Soccer Club.

The firm that represented Glazer and his wife, Shari, in the sale was Riskin Associates at Village Properties, an affiliate of Christie's International Realty while the agent who handled the listing for Lukas and his wife was Suzanne Perkins of Sotheby's International Realty.

Montecito, a prime location

Through her website, Perkins described Montecito, which means "little mountain," as a "verdant retreat." It is said to showcase "a rural, residential atmosphere and is colored by many gardens throughout the area" with the green hills "home to luxurious, expansive homes and estates."

Most homes seen in the area are said to be commonly featuring "mission-styles built with stucco, verandas, and patios that all draw one's attention to the breathtaking outdoors, so integral to the Southern Californian lifestyle."

Montecito's great setting and ambiance are perfect for fun activities like biking, hiking, riding horses and sea kayaking.

The place also offers stunning views as it overlooks the ocean, appealing to the artistically-inclined. Thus, Perkins noted that until now, Montecito is still a haven for writers, poets and composers. The famous Charlie Chaplain, whose genius in the performance arts is legendary, once built an inn in Montecito.

Home features

According to the Times, the French Provencal-inspired home sitting on nine-acres of Montecito lot includes five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. Other living spaces to the luxury home now owned by the executive, who manages the team with his co-chairmen brothers, Bryan and Joel, are a formal living room, a dining room, a media room, a study and a four-car garage. A property hunter, who also has a professional career, will find the home useful and convenient as it comes with a residential office.

Aside from the 12,900-square-foot main residence, there is a guesthouse that displays two bedrooms and a full bathroom for overnight visitors.

Outdoors, fun-filled activities are available with the grounds amenities like a greenhouse, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a pond, rolling lawns and an orchard.
