Drake ‘Views From The 6’ Album News: Release Date Allegedly Posted on His Website
A cryptic date of "September 24" appeared on Drake's official website over the weekend, sparking rumors that it's the release date of his highly anticipated fourth studio album "View From The 6," reports OnSMASH.
The date would mark the two-year anniversary since his last album "Nothing Was the Same" was released. Rumor has it that the date is the unconfirmed launch of his latest album.
The Toronto rapper announced the "View From The 6" album project last summer. We know it is in recording stages. The album is reportedly a nod to his hometown of Toronto, and the number six represents the area codes of 647 and 416.
In April, Drake had an interview with Ernest Baker of Four Pins where we dished about "Views From The 6."
"He only has two songs finished that he likes. One is a collaboration with Beyoncé that he recorded a while ago. The other is a song that he expects to inspire a paradigm shift. His days of releasing lay-up bangers that everyone loves right away are over. For now," Baker wrote.
"'Views From The 6' needs to shock listeners just as much as it needs to impress them. I compare it to what Kanye did on his own fourth album, '808s & Heartbreak.' Drake agrees and, as if to reinforce that notion, he tells me that Boi-1da said he needs to listen to the non-Beyoncé song a few more times before he can decide whether it's good or not."
It seems the "Know Yourself" rapper is ready to break from his usual style and try something new.
The last time Drake and the Queen were in the studio together, it was a collaboration on the hit single "Mine" for her 2013 self-titled album.
While waiting for the drop of "View From The 6," fans can catch Drake on Beats 1 Radio where he has an Apple Music show called "OVO Sound." The two-hour show debuted July 11. Three new remixes were unleashed along with music exclusives.
