'Rambo: Last Blood' News: Rumors About Stallone Movie and ISIS A Hoax
Whatever you want to say about “Rocky” star Sylvester Stallone and his constant cinematic comebacks, one thing is for sure: A recent rumor proves many still believe the 69-year-old actor can kick butt onscreen.
A fake site reported that legendary action star Sylvester made an unannounced appearance at Comic-Con in order to promote his upcoming "Rocky" film “Creed,” spilling details about “Rambo: Last Blood," his other well-known remake in the works. He supposedly said Rambo would fight ISIS in the upcoming film.
The story was, when asked by a fan if there would be another “Rambo,” which had its fourth installment in 2008, Stallone was supposed to have said, “We are working on it right now actually.”
As reported by the hoax site (with the purposefully misleading URL washingtontimes.com.co), the actor was supposed to have continue, “We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds. ... We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.”
To further corroborate the fake story,However, there have been reports from late last year and earlier this year that Stallone announced "Last Blood" is in the works. According to various reports at the time, Stallone's own Twitter account had announced the movie was going to be made. ScreenRanter explained the movie would start production after "Creed."
Well, apparently this was all just some creative bunk.
As reported by Manly Movie, Stallone’s agent has had to clear everything up by saying, “Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event.”
Mediaite points out that a slew of otherwise reputable news sources such as Business Insider, The Independent, and Foreign Policy Magazine, were all duped.
