World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Welterweight title holder Amir Khan is not interested in an all-British showdown with the unbeaten International Boxing Federation (IBF) welterweight champion, Kell Brook.

For him, his next fight should only be against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. or a more formidable opponent than Brook.

"If I don't get the September fight I'd like to be back out again in November or December like normal. I'll be looking at those dates instead. But if I don't get the Mayweather fight there is still no chance whatsoever that I will fight Kell Brook before the end of the year. It will have to be a big one and I'll leave it to Al Haymon. Al will give me a call this week hopefully to let me know who it will be. It will probably be back in the States again," Khan told Sport 360.

"King Khan," who triumphed over Chris Algieri via a unanimous decision at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, is still hoping that he will be picked by Forbes' 2015 World's Highest Paid Athlete as his opponent this year in Las Vegas.

He told Sport360 that Mayweather could end up fighting him or former two-time welterweight champion, Andre Berto.

Khan also criticized "The Money" for making "his opponents wait," which could be part of the Mayweather camp's strategy. However, the mind games won't catch Khan off guard, he said, because the British boxer is always training, even during Ramadan.

The fighter stated that he is preparing for the possible bout in between fasts, aside from also focusing on building his Amir Khan Foundation that aims to put up an orphanage in Gambia.

But is Khan really ready to face Mayweather?

Recently, one of the two boxers whom Mayweather revealed as the possible man standing on the opposite corner of his planned bout in Nevada, Karim "Hard Hitta" Mayfield, shared sparring tales about Khan, which made the British boxer look unfit to face "The Money."

"Every time I sparred Amir Khan at Virgil Hunter's gym, I put hands on him. So bad that Virgil had to stop the sparring sessions. Khan has also been brutally knocked out twice by Prescott and Garcia. The man has no chin and he wouldn't last 12 rounds with Money Mayweather. He's definitely the safer route," Mayfield said, as quoted by World Boxing News.

Khan, of course, denied such claims, telling Sport360 that Mayfield was only trying to make himself "look good."
