Woody Allen's sexual abuse scandal dates back to 1993, when his split from girlfriend Mia Farrow was hyped by accusations that he abused Dylan Farrow, their adoptive daughter. On Saturday, Dylan wrote about the alleged molestation for the first time. Now, Dylan's family and those close to Allen are responding.

"Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house. He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother's electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we'd go to Paris and I'd be a star in his movies," Dylan said in an open letter printed by New York Times.

In her letter, Dylan says she now lives a happy life but still thinks that society needs to address Allen's alleged crimes.

"I didn't like it when he would stick his thumb in my mouth," Dylan's letter says. "I didn't like it when I had to get in bed with him under the sheets when he was in his underwear. I didn't like it when he would place his head in my naked lap and breathe in and breathe out."

On Sunday, Leslee Dart, a rep for Allen, said he would address the "untrue" and "disgraceful" letter "very soon."

"In the meantime, it is essential that your coverage make the following facts clear," Dart continued. "At the time, a thorough investigation was conducted by court appointed independent experts. The experts concluded there was no credible evidence of molestation; that Dylan Farrow had an inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality; and that Dylan Farrow had likely been coached by her mother Mia Farrow. No charges were ever filed."

Elkan Abramowitz, Allen's lawyer, also disputes the incriminating letter.

"It is tragic that after 20 years, a story engineered by a vengeful lover resurfaces after it was fully vetted and rejected by independent authorities," he said. "The one to blame for Dylan's distress is neither Dylan nor Woody."

Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchett, who are among those attacked in the letter for working with Allen, have also responded.

"It's obviously been a long and painful situation for the family, and I hope they find some resolution and peace," Blanchett told The Guardian.

"What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle?" Baldwin said via Twitter. "You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue."

Both of Baldwin's tweets have since been deleted.

Meanwhile, Dylan has received lots of support since writing the letter. One of her supporters is Ronan Farrow, Dylan's older brother and biological son of Allen and Mia. According to NY Daily News, Ronan and Allen do not speak.

"I love and support my sister and I think her words speak for themselves," Ronan said via Twitter.

Allen can no longer be tried for the accusations due to the statute of limitations.
