As intimate relationships continue to form on "Empire," off the screen the same is tru as Andre (Trai Byers) and Anika (Grace Gealey) got engaged in real life.

Byers popped the question on Sunday July 26 for Gealey's birthday, Us Weekly reports. Multiple sources confirmed the news.

"He surprised her on her birthday," a source reveals. "He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated. She can't stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night."

Us Weekly also broke the news of the two "Empire" co-stars dating back in March.

Byers recently posted an Instagram collage of Gealey's 31st birthday celebration. The gift bags were decked out in the "Empire" logo. The couple enjoyed their new journey together while celebrating with other co-stars.

"Had so much fun celebrating @gracegealey's life!! Happy Birthday to an exquisite human being! Thank you @kinmontchicago for hosting us. Amazing spot, wonderful food, UNFORGETTABLE night," he captioned the post.

In the Fox hit show, Byers plays Andre Lyon, the eldest son of Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and the brains behind their family company. Gealey plays Anika who is Lucious' fiancée. In the "Empire" universe, Andre is basically with his stepmom.

In the actual series though, Anika goes for the younger brother Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray) to get back at Lucious for cheating on her with his ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

"Empire" has been renewed for a second season. The promo video was released last week on YouTube for fans to get a sneak peek of what's in store.

Cookie is working with her two sons Andre and Hakeem along with her nemesis Anika to take over Empire. Meanwhile, her other son Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) is climbing to fame while controlling his family's company.

Lucious is behind bars for killing Cookie's cousin, but the star witness for the case, Vernon (Malik Yoba) is dead.

Several guest stars are also set to be featured in the next season. Design & Trend listed the top five upcoming guest stars, which include Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Ludacris and Marisa Tomei.

Season 2 for "Empire" will air on Fox on Sept. 23.
