A "Spider-Man" reboot is in the works. Fans can expect great things from his upcoming third go-around as it would mark the web-slinger's membership into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Even though we have to wait until 2017 for the full-length feature, reports have suggested that the new Peter Parker will debut in next year's "Captain America: Civil War."  

Critics' Choice Best Young Actor Tom Holland is set to play MCU's Spider-Man. The solo film will be directed by Jon Watts with the screenplay done by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

The pair is currently doing press rounds for their joint directorial debut "Vacation." While at it, they weren't secretive about their Marvel involvement.

Goldstein said the draft of "Spider-Man" is still just that, a draft. He also said they are still in the early phase of conceptualization although he noted they would be heading to Marvel this weekend to check at footage of Holland's Peter Parker cameo in "Civil War."

"We hear good things. We might even get to look at the Spidey suit, which is exciting," Daley briefly told Vulture.

He went on to dispel ongoing casting rumors online. The team has already discussed possible characters but nothing has been finalized just yet.

They have echoed recommendations by fans to forego a Spidey origin story.

"I think that everybody feels like you know he got bit by a spider and you know Uncle Ben died, and we probably don't need to revisit that," said Goldstein.

For his part, Daley indicated that Peter Parker's high school struggles will be focused in the solo outing. This gives them something fresh to work on.

"We have a meeting set up at the end of the week just to go over the logistics and to look at his suit, which will be fun. But we're so pumped about it and Marvel seems to be doing everything right; we're both such huge fans of the stuff they're putting out. I think it'll be a fun departure from the Peter Parker you've seen, where now he is truly a kid and I think the stakes are increased in that his struggle through high school is very real and isn't just a sort of side note; it matters now."

Marvel Studios has been eager incorporate different film genres in their movies. "Ant-Man" was Marvel's homage to heist films.

Marvel president Kevin Feige told Slash Film last month that the untitled "Spider-Man" reboot set for July 28, 2017, "will be a 'John Hughes' movie."
