DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Has Cast its Villain
On thing is for sure and that is you cannot have a superhero TV series without a villain. DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" has been slow to get the news out about its winter 2016 show that is set to debut on broadcast network The CW.
But now, it has cast its villain for the series, according to Deadline.
Casting the role of Vandal Savage for the series is no easy task. Producers needed to get the actor that fit the role just right. But they were successful in finding the right person for the role. Danish actor Casper Crump has been tapped to play the role in the series, as well as on other DC shows for the CW.
Crump is probably best known for his role on "Almost Perfect," but he is also notable for the films "Helium" and the upcoming "Tarzan" reboot. His image seems to align with that of Savage in the comic book and he seems to be a perfect fit for the role on the series.
Crump (as Savage) will start off on "Arrow," then cross over to "The Flash" before heading home next winter to "Legends of Tomorrow."
What is known about Savage is that he is an old character, over 6,000 years old. He has been firmly embedded throughout history with his exploits of mankind in one form or another. His influence had been felt by world leaders, dictators and imperialists alike. He has left his mark by influencing them to do his bidding, which would be the inevitable goal of world domination.
Crump's character will also be joined by several others on the series, including Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) and Falk Hentschel (Hawkman).
