"Fashion Police" will be returning on Aug. 31, with two incredibly sweet and comical but sincere guests to grace the show.

Former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes and funny woman Margaret Cho will be appearing on the first episode of the show since it was put on hiatus in March, E! Online announced.

Cho and Leakes in the mix

Cho will make the show more interesting as she is a critically-acclaimed comedian. She has been making her fans laugh through the years, especially when she appeared in the TV series "Drop Dead Diva" as Teri Lee. She is also "revered for her crass" and her "in-your-face style," noted My Lifetime.

On the other hand, Leakes' frankness and sincerity are two of her well-known traits. Fans were no longer surprised when she was announced as guest of the show since there were rumors about her appearing on it even before the program announced its break.

Leakes even toyed with the idea when rumors surfaced, OK! Magazine reported.

"Because I'm fashionable, and I keep it real like Joan and tell it like is!" Leakes said when she approached by photographers in Los Angeles in March.

The two popular TV stars will be airing their opinions as the program covers "all the hits and misses from the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards," reported E! Online.

Will these traits of the comic actresses work with the audience of "Fashion Police"? If they do, will fans expect them to be regulars in the show?

Coming back from hiatus

In mid March, E! issued a statement that the program will temporarily bid farewell after it faced several controversies like Kelly Osbourne's departure in February and Kathy Griffin's decision to quit, too.

"E!'s comedy series Fashion Police is going on hiatus and will return in September. We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of "Fashion Police" fans around the world," the network stated.

However, Variety reported in June that the show will be back on air again even before September starts, with Melissa Rivers co-hosting the show aside from handling an executive role.
