'Daredevil' Season 2 Cast: Set Photo Shows Jon Bernthal's Punisher Moves in Fight Scene
"Daredevil" Season 2 gets more exciting with the release of set photos showing Jon Bernthal's Punisher moves in a fight scene.
Several photos of Bernthal clad in almost black attire were featured on Just Jared, showing the actor while filming Netflix' hit series, "Daredevil."
Bernthal was shooting the scenes in New York, on Aug.06, as he portrays the character "The Punisher" in the second installment of the series.
"The Punisher" was actually a person named Francis Castiglione with Italian parents but was born and raised in New York, noted Marvel.com. The character, who is also dubbed or nicknamed as Frank Castle, was set to become a Catholic priest, but because of some circumstances, he completely left that goal behind.
It was further noted that he was "unable to forgive those who did evil." Later on he joined the U.S. Marines and earned the rank of a captain and had vast experiences like serving in the Vietnam War. He then had a traumatic event that involved his wife and children, when they witnessed a Mafia execution. He then set his mind to avenge what was taken from him and became "The Punisher."
In the series, his character will meet Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, who also portrays the blind lawyer alter-ego Matt Murdock. However, no details were still revealed how the two will meet, but it will be something to watch out for, especially Murdock is a Catholic, too, who maintains life is precious.
Although Daredevil is fighting his enemies in Hell's Kitchen, he never intended to kill anyone in the process.
So, it would be interesting to wonder how the two will meet and even discuss their differences. Will it be in a pure long talk about their religious and moral beliefs or in a great choreographed and action-packed scene.
In the photos, Bernthal, who had some bruises and cuts on his face, was seen chokelocking an enemy. Being a trained and high-ranking officer in the U.S. Marines, he clearly has the upper-hand in these shots. His character can take on several men and still escape almost unscathed, thus he is regarded as "one of the most dangerous criminals alive," noted Marvel.
However, Marvel noted on its website that when it comes to Daredevil he is "significantly inferior," especially in "hand-to-hand combat" fighting, as Murdock was already skillful as a child, when he was trained by an old blind man while he was under the care of an orphanage.
With Wilson Fisk (Vincent D' Onofrio) arrested and Murdock made sure in the end he will be turned over to the police, Hell's Kitchen may be or may not be under the force of another enemy.
Although "The Punisher" is not actually a villain but also a vigilante like Dare Devil, he may be a necessary "evil" that will spice up the next season and even shakes or perhaps strengthens Murdock's beliefs.
