Manchester City will kick off their 2015-16 English Premier League campaign against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Monday.

Manchester City will parade their improved forward line bannered by Sergio Aguero, David Silva and new recruit Raheem Sterling, who moved from Liverpool this summer.

Sterling, who scored seven goals and tallied seven assists in 35 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last season, was acquired by Manchester United for £49 million.

The move, which became the most expensive British transfer in history, was criticized by most analysts, but Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini defended their decision to acquire Sterling. He said that Sterling will improve playing alongside Aguero, Silva and Yaya Toure.

"He is working very well and it is easy for good players to settle in a good team," Pellegrini said of Sterling. "I think we are going to have a very successful player this year."

Aguero and Silva were considered doubtful for their season opener due to sickness, but Pellegrini confirmed that both will play against West Bromwich on Monday. However, the Manchester City boss is unsure if Samir Nasri will recover in time for the match.

Manchester City are favored to win against West Bromwich, who will be playing without top goalkeeper Ben Foster. Boaz Myhill will man the goal for West Bromwich, while Rickie Lambert, James McClean and James Chester could all make their first appearance at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich manager Tony Pulis also confirmed that they are still in the process of improving their roster and waiting for possible signings, but he said he is ready to go to war with the current lineup.

"I've always worked with the material I am given and that's always been my philosophy, to try to squeeze everything out of everybody," Pulis said via ESPN FC. "The club has a good structure and we haven't made too many changes but most things are in place."

Pulis, who will be entering his first full season as West Bromwich manager, admitted that he is feeling nervous heading into their season debut, but he added that he will lean on his vast experience to prepare his team well for their match against Manchester City.
