Naya Rivera deals with endless comparisons to reality star Kim Kardashian before, but this time she thinks it went too far. The actress defended her nude pregnancy photos, which were released on the same day that Kardashian took a nude selfie to prove her pregnancy to critics.

According to E! Online, the "Glee" star took to Twitter early on Aug. 11 to defend her pictures, which a family member posted on Instagram.

The 28-year-old can be seen wearing a fur cover up and, in another photo, wearing a fitted black dress.

"I chose to share pregnancy photos because I think this is a very beautiful and special time in my life," Rivera said on Twitter. "Media outlets know that when you give your photos and an interview to run a story you never get a choice as to when it runs."

The photo shoot, which is part of an exclusive interview by Yahoo, was published by the website with an interview.

"So trying to make something out of nothing based on stupid assumptions is awful," Rivera said. "Such a shame. Especially when it comes to a woman and her beautiful pregnancy journey."

The photo in comparison is the image Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram of herself naked and showing off her growing stomach. Kardashian posted the image in response to all the criticism she has received about her weight and rumors that she is faking her pregnancy.

"First they say I'm too skinny so I have to be faking it...Now they say I'm too big so I have to be faking it...SMH," said Kardashian in the caption.

"Some days I'm photographed before I eat & look smaller, some days I've just eaten & I look bigger. It's all a part of the process," she wrote. "I think you all know me well enough to know I would document the process if I got a surrogate. Everyone's body is different, every pregnancy is very different!"
