Jay Leno concedes he doesn't know how Bill Cosby can survive all his ongoing troubles, but thinks the comedian's first step should be to "admit what went on."

Appearing at the Television Critics Association press gathering to promote his new "Jay Leno's Garage" show, Deadline reports the famed, fellow comedian added, "Fifty women come forward and (the media) calls them liars, and says 'Oh, you waited 40 years.' Men waited 50 years to say that a priest touched them and got $7 million. How can we believe them and not the women?"

In recent times, dozens of women have come forward to allege over the years they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the now 78-year-old Cosby. Just this week, three more women, two actresses and a flight attendant, emerged to claim they were also victimized by him.

"Bill Cosby is a wonderful comedian and has always been a nice man, I feel bad about this as anybody does," added Leno, "but I don't know how he comes out of it."

New York magazine recently featured 35 of Cosby's accusers on the cover of an issue, where victims recounted their alleged encounters with him. Most of the accusers charged Cosby gave them drugs before sexually assaulting them.

In a 2005 deposition hearing related to a civil suit filed against him, Cosby admitted to giving drugs to women he wanted to sleep with. As more of the allegations lodged against him have unfolded, celebrities such as Whoopie Goldberg and Jill Scott, who originally supported him, have now changed their opinion.

Reruns of the "Cosby Show" have also been pulled from TV channels like BET and TV Land, and institutions like Spellman College and Northern Illinois University have pulled campus tributes and monuments dedicated to him.
