Jennifer Lopez is describing her upcoming Las Vegas residency tour as something she's been looking forward to forever.

"I think I've been preparing for this my whole life," Lopez told Entertainment Tonight during a recent stop in Philadelphia for final season "American Idol" auditions. "I'm excited about going to Vegas [and] doing the kind of quintessential show that I've always had in my mind."

The 46-year-old offered a primer to the kind of performance she's planning on giving show when she teased it will embrace "my Latin side, my fun side, and my hip-hop side." She added, "It's gonna have everything that I've been known to do over the years, and it's gonna be a beautiful, glamorous kind of Vegas show. Something that I think people, whether you're a fan of my music or not, would come and see and really enjoy. That's my goal."

As for "American Idol" and all the pressure of this being the long-running hit show's final season, Lopez seems to be taking that in stride.

"I think [it's] just a really exciting season," she said. "We'd rather have an extraordinary tight group of kids than a bunch of kind of good [ones]. -- OK, we're not going for good this year -- we're going for over the top."

Either way, it all makes for a busy schedule for Lopez and begs the question of how she and boyfriend Casper Smart seem to make so much quality time for one another.

"It's a lot of work, this business, but we do our best," she said. Recently, rumors have circulated that the two are secretly planning to wed sometime this year and have hopes of soon adding to their family.

"Casper's great with the twins [seven-year-old daughter Emme and son Max] and he really wants to have a baby of his own too," said a source. "They've already started trying, and he'd love to be able to reveal on their wedding day that they're expecting."
